I expected Mr Tate to say any minute, ‘Take him Mr Finch…’

Leading up to these thoughts from Scout’s perspective, she describes the atmosphere of the court room seen through her eyes and felt through her skin. She described it to be like a cold day on a February morning even though outside the court house it was a hot and humid night. It seemed to her like the world had come to a stop because everyone was silenced and still awaiting the final verdict of Tom Robinson. She had a slight idea of what the verdict was to be, but she hoped, really hoped it was not true.
